Kettle Run High School Guidance Director Sue Harmon will deliver the White House Christmas tree via horse and carriage on Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving. This is the fourth time in eight years her business has been chosen to make the delivery.

Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), in cooperation with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), has scheduled three public information meetings Dec. 8, 9 and 10 for the Washington, D.C. to Richmond Southeast High Speed Rail (DC2RVA) project. The reason for the meetings is to present the most feasible improvement alternatives for faster, more reliable intercity passenger rail service.
A community forum sponsored by Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task to address the heroin epidemic will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at Germanna Community College at 18121 Technology Drive, Culpeper, VA from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attorney General Mark Herring will speak.

Starting Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) is adding a new round trip train to its Fredericksburg Line. Schedule changes will be made to all Fredericksburg and Manassas line trains to accommodate the increase in service.
