Three community conversations are scheduled to share thoughts, ideas, and suggestions with the Planning Office and other County agencies.

Volunteers wanted for school boundary committee for new elementary school on PW Parkway

Volunteers are needed to help advise on school boundaries. Wanted are local community members and/or parents or legal guardians of students who attend Antietam, Bel Air, Belmont, Featherstone, Kerrydale, Kilby, Lake Ridge, Leesylvania, Marshall, Marumsco Hills, Minnieville, Occoquan, Old Bridge, Penn, Potomac View, Rockledge, Springwoods, Vaughan, or Westridge Elementary Schools.

Deter auto theft with free VIN etching by police until 2 p.m. today, Oct. 13

If you are looking for a way to deter auto thieves, take your vehicles to the Shops at Signal Hill shopping center, 9692 Liberia Ave. in Manassas (20110), today, Saturday, Oct. 13, until 2 p.m. – for VIN etching on all of your vehicle windows. Prince William County and Manassas police departments and Virginia State Police’s H.E.A.T. Program, are sponsoring this free event.

Screening mammograms and 3D mammograms at Ladies Nights Out on Oct. 18 & Oct. 25

Women can receive annual mammogram screenings, learn about breast health and enjoy relaxation activities and shopping from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Ladies Nights Out on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Prince William Medical Center and Thursday, Oct. 25, at Haymarket Medical Center. No physician order is required for women 40 years of age and older and no prior breast health issues, and most insurance is accepted.

Suspect apprehended in Oct. 9 abduction and sexual assault of girl, 11, on her way to school

During the extensive investigation, Prince William County Police Department detectives from the Special Victims Bureau and Violent Crimes Bureau were able to identify the suspect involved in the abduction of a girl on her way to school that occurred in the 14200 block of Essex Dr in Woodbridge in the morning hours of Oct. 9.

Man dies from injuries sustained in July accident on Old Bridge Road; police reopen case

On July 7 at 10:59PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Old Bridge Rd and Rolling Brook Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that a driver of a 1993 Toyota Standard was traveling westbound on Old Bridge Rd and attempted to make a left turn onto Rolling Brook Dr., according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok.

Police broadcast lookout for man who grabbed girl on way to school and assaulted her

At 8:14AM, officers responded to the 14200 block of Essex Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an abduction. The investigation revealed that the victim, a juvenile girl, was reportedly walking to school along Essex Dr near Radford Dr when an unknown man approached and grabbed her.

Viewing Sept. 30, funeral Oct. 1 for Carolyn Gregg, who worked for Prince William County Public Schools for 48 years. She passed away the week of Sept. 23, 2018. She served in the Office of Student Learning and retired from the School Division on October 1, 2012.
