Battlefield High School invites the community to attend the rescheduled Haymaker STEM Expo on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free event will offer a multitude of family-friendly activities for students and adults of all ages.
Rising ninth graders and high school students interested in the HVAC field are invited to attend an open house on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Woodbridge campus of NOVA from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don't worry about college loans. PWC Schools have an arrangement with NOVA for students to have their college fees paid by the school system.

The recent School Board decision to close schools for the March 1 presidential primary election means a day off for students, teachers, and many other employees, with no make-up required. Employees with 250-day contracts are expected to work.

Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the northern portion of the I-395 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes during overnight hours beginning at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 3-4. The closures are needed for crews to inspect and assess roadway and sign conditions as part of preliminary work related to the future extension of the I-395 Express Lanes.
