PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) joined Sens. Tom Udall (D-NM), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) to introduce the Fairness and Independence in Redistricting (FAIR) Act to take partisanship out of the congressional redistricting process by requiring states to establish independent, bipartisan redistricting commissions.
The Office of Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) is now accepting submissions for the 2016 Congressional Art Competition. All high school students living in Virginia’s First Congressional District are eligible and welcome to participate in the competition, themed “America the Beautiful.”

IRS-certified volunteers at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will prepare free tax returns for individuals and families with 2015 earnings less than $54,000 on Feb. 22 at NOVA's Manassas Mall Global Learning Center and April 4 on the Manassas campus at SkillSource Center. Tax help will be available on other dates at other campuses.
The recent recalibration of the minimum passing score on the GED high school equivalency examination from 150 to 145 resulted in good news for 647 Virginia adult learners who took the test between Jan. 1, 2014, and when the change was announced Jan. 26.
Northern Virginia Community College will present a series of free STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning events for students of assorted ages with hands-on lessons at NOVA’s Global Learning Center in the Manassas Mall, 8300 Sudley Road, Manassas. All events run from noon to 5 p.m.
