VDOT asks drivers to plan ahead for Tuesday commutes

Virginia Department of Transportation asks drivers to plan now for their commutes Tuesday, as several inches of snow are forecast to impact both the morning and evening rush hours in northern Virginia. Drivers are asked to monitor forecasts for changes or heavier weather bands that may impact their schedule, and to plan accordingly to telework, delay commutes or allow extra time for a slow and cautious trip.

Reported outside gas leak becomes inside leak, then house fire in Woodbridge

Volunteer firefighters from the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of an outside gas leak at the 14000 block of Franklin and Longview Drive, Woodbridge, at 3:03 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, according to a news release. OWL VFD crews arrived on scene within minutes, and the call was upgraded to an inside gas leak.

Exam dates and half day changed for Fauquier County schools

Due to the loss of six instructional days associated with the blizzard in January, exam dates for the end of the third nine weeks will be changed from March 10 and 11 to March 17 and 18.
