Bob’s Discount Furniture held a grand opening of its 171th store now located in Manassas, with a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting on Friday, Dec. 8, at 7673 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20109, in the shopping center next to Burlington Coat Factory.

Manassas City Council has had second thoughts about hiking by one cent the BPOL (Business, Professional and Occupational License) tax rate charged on retail sales, real estate and professional services and contractors and subcontractors.

Covington donates $5,000 to Parkside Middle School

to Parkside Middle School as matching funds for the school's single-event fall fundraiser. The money will go to technology upgrades at the Manassas school in Prince William County. Covington made good on his promise at the opening night of the Manassas school's "Beauty and the Beast" presentation in early May. Half-staff flags in memory of Va. Tech shootings in 2007

Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect of the 16th Anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting. Some 32 people were killed in this incident.
