According to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief for Prince William Fire and Rescue, units arriving on the scene observed a tractor trailer had crashed into a condo building at the Moorings of Occoquan. Multiple vehicles were involved. Five patients were evaluated' four were transported to the hospital. No one in the building was injured, Smolsky said.

Gina Townsend, a fifth grade teacher at Glenkirk Elementary School in Gainesville VA, has been selected as Science Teacher of the Year by Prince William County Schools. Her principal, Lisa Gilkerson, called Townsend "our Science Lighthouse at Glenkirk" and said she "excels in science hands-on inquiry, literacy and differentiation."
A man accused of burglarizing a Heritage Hunt home on July 26 has been charged with several additional burglary charges in relation to break-ins in the Gainesville VA community. Also facing additional burglary charges is a 19-year-old Gainesville woman whom police alleged to be his accomplice.

A dozen campers ages 8-13 tried out the life of a Civil War soldier in Prince William County recently at Basic Civil War Camp at Brentsville Courthouse Centre in Bristow. David Born, historical program coordinator, and Michael Riley, site manager for the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre, led the young history buffs. The program was developed by Prince William County VA's Department of Historic Preservation.
