Manassas City Police Department, which has been an accredited law enforcement agency since 1997, will have a reaccreditation onsite visit by a team of assessors in August, according to Lt. J. P. Bisek, who is in charge of professional standards for MCPD. The police department encourages more public comment during the reaccreditation process.
PWC Extension Office will begin its four-week series on how to live well despite having diabetes. Extension agent Nancy Stegon, MPH, RD, is the lead instructor.
The upcoming comedy “Permanent,” written and directed by a University of Virginia graduate and starring Patricia Arquette and Rainn Wilson, will shoot in Central Virginia in early August. Director Colette Burson was quoted as saying, “I feel like I can deliver a movie that looks way beyond my budget because all my Virginia locations are incredibly beautiful and authentic."
Charges stem from a two-month investigation conducted by detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Forces, according to police reports.

In the proclamation, Governor McAuliffe says that farmers’ markets in Virginia have grown dramatically, from 88 markets in 2006 to 259 in 2016. Consumer spending at farmers’ markets keeps money circulating within the local economy, helping to create and preserve jobs in rural localities. Consumers visiting farmers’ markets also spend money at neighboring businesses.
