The Prince William County Arts Council invites the community to attend Poetry and Music Out Loud and In The Park: A Black Music Month Celebration on Sunday, June 5 from 3 - 7 PM at the Jean C. Smith Amphitheater inside Locust Shade Park. The park is located at 4701 Locust Shade Dr., Triangle, VA 22172.

Volunteers at the National Law Enforcement Museum are still needed during National Police Week 2022 which takes place Wednesday, May 11 through Sunday, May 15. Volunteer shifts are assigned within the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Police investigate robberies at bank in Lake Ridge and ABC store in Woodbridge.

During the arrest, the accused kicked and struck three officers. Eventually the accused was detained and escorted to a rescue personnel for evaluation. At that point, the accused continued to thrash his body and resist before he head-butted two additional officers and spat on a separate officer. In total, the accused assaulted six officers before being secured. Minor injuries were reported.

Prince William County Arts Council and the Poet Laureate Circle invite poets and poetry lovers to nominate the next Prince William County Poet Laureate. Nominations are due by June 15, 2022. Self-nominations are encouraged, others are accepted.
