Residents who want a quick overview of Prince William County finances can read the Popular Annual Financial Report, or PAFR, online for "a broad, easy-to-understand, overview of the county’s financial position," according to a county news release Jan. 13.
A lower transit benefit and falling gas prices are likely reasons why bus services operated by the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) transported more than 3.1 million passengers in calendar year 2014, a 3.6% decrease compared with 2013.

Prince William County Public Schools spread nearly 330 tons of ground gray gravel across school roadways and parking lots last week to battle nature’s first ice and snow assault of the season.

Margaret Mitchell McLeod Price, a teacher at Stonewall Middle School (now Unity Braxton) in Manassas for 26 years until her retirement in 1999, died Jan. 26, 2024. She was an avid traveler and had visited 49 states and numerous foreign countries.
