Gov. Glenn Youngkin has ordered the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff April 16 in memory and respect for the 17th Anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting which took the lives of 32 people.
Prince William Committee of 100 will host its monthly dinner and program on Thursday, March 19 at the Wyndham Garden, 10800 Vandor Lane, Manassas, VA. Networking begins at 6:30 p.m.; dinner 7 p.m. and the program begins at 7:45 p.m. The program will examine budgetary challenges that ensue from the competing importance of the tax rate and funding critical needs in Prince William County.
Prince William County hazmat crews smelled petroleum and saw a suspected petroleum product in the tributary feeding into Lake Linden, a storm water management pond, off Williamson Blvd. in Manassas this morning, March 10, according to a news release from Prince William County Fire & Rescue.
Alyson A. Satterwhite, vice chairman of the Prince William County School Board, and Gil Trenum, Brentsville District school board member, will hold a town hall meeting in Haymarket Elementary School’s Story Room on Tuesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. to discuss the school budget.

Suspects wanted in connection with Jan. 17 attempted armed robbery, Feb. 1 armed robbery and March 1, 2015 strangulation were arrested recently by Prince William County police, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, public information officer for the police department.
