The Federal Employee Retroactive Pay Fairness Act would guarantee back pay for all furloughed workers in the event of a shutdown.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Dec. 10 that his budget includes funds for 2 percent pay increases for state employees, college faculty, teachers, sheriff’s deputies and other public workers, effective July 10, 2017. This is the first time since 2008 that a governor’s introduced budget has included funds for state worker pay increases.

The Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) announced Dec. 9 that Senator Marco Rubio is the tenth Republican candidate to submit signatures for "pre-check" review by the RPV and for submission to the State Board of Elections.
