PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Administrative interns, a math teacher and an assistant principal have been appointed summer school principals for Prince William County Schools.
Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission reports that William T. Kennard is now Deputy Commissioner at its regional office in Manassas. Kennard also will serve as an administrative law judge for evidentiary and on-the-record hearings under the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act. He will hold hearing dockets in Fairfax and Manassas.

Governor Terry McAuliffe signed Senate Bill 291 and House Bill 1160, which establish procedures for handling evidence kits in sexual assaults.
Any pesticide chemical residue found on samples of various foods tested by the U.S. Department of Agriculture were below levels that could pose a safety risk, according to the 2014 Pesticide Data Program Annual Summary.

There’s risk every spring that a hard freeze will kill tender fruit blossoms, says the Virginia Farm Bureau. Virginia apple and peach growers are familiar with that risk. But growers across Virginia saw some losses from two hard freezes the week of April 3, including Jay Yankey, owner of Yankey Farms, a pick-your-own operation in Prince William County.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit have identified the body found March 29 in a retention pond in the 7300 block of Williamson Blvd in Manassas (20109). The victim was reported as missing and endangered on Feb. 4. Officer Nathan Probus, Police Department spokesman, said there is no public threat or need for concern as this incident does not appear to be random and no foul play is suspected at this time.
During its meeting on Tuesday, April 12, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors agreed to change the dates of upcoming budget meetings due to scheduling conflicts.
