Beginning Sunday night, April 28, weather permitting, a portion of the northbound and southbound I-95 general purpose lanes in Prince William County will have nighttime single- and double-lane closures until late fall.

The 2015 FIRST® LEGO® LEAGUE Trash Trek Challenge asks students to identify a problem with the way people make or handle trash, and then design a solution to the problem. Fifth graders created a system to put in place at Mountain View School that separates plastic from waste material that can be composted.

"In the Midst of Plenty" was written by author and journalist Ben Bagdikin almost 50 years ago about poverty in America. The subject is still true today. Even in the affluent Haymarket-Gainesville areas, poverty and hunger still exist in the midst of plenty. David and Joan Gifford, along with two teams of volunteers, formed Crossroads-Connection to assist with poverty in their own backyards.
On Tuesday, December 15th, at 7:30 pm, the Manassas Park governing body will host a reception for State Senator-Elect Jeremy McPike.
Five PWCS FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams traveled Dec. 4-5 to the FLL State Tournament at James Madison University in Harrisonburg and won an invitation to the State Tournament by being the top in three different judging categories and having success on the field during the robot game.
Virginia's State Corporation Commission will hold four public hearings over two days at Battlefield High School in Haymarket on Dominion Power's proposal to extend power lines in the area.
