Police report shots ring out shortly before July 4 at Sudley Rd. car wash; four men shot

On Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 11:51PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the parking lot of the Sams Car Wash located at 8129 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting.

Nuclear power emergencies: FEMA to test eliminating sirens and using phone alerts only

US Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has given six days noticeof a virtual public meeting on June 28, 2022 for public comment on a significant change to Virginia’s alert and notification system for nuclear power plant emergencies. FEMA will conduct an exercise of the new system --no warnings only cell phone alerts - on June 28, 2022.

Drunk driver hits man and dog, out for walk on Old Bridge Rd. June 18

Responding officers and bystanders provided first aid to the pedestrian until rescue personnel arrived. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash. The dog, identified as a male Akita between 5-7 years old, died at the scene.

29 update on 29th: VDOT slates June 29 virtual update on rehab of Cub Run Bridge (Rt. 29 north )

Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a virtual construction update Wednesday, June 29 starting at 7 p.m. on work to rehabilitate northbound Route 29 (Lee Highway) bridge over Cub Run to improve driver and pedestrian safety and extend the overall life of the bridge. The bridge was originally built in 1954, some 68 years ago.
