The main Emergency Department lobby at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge reopened on Friday, Aug. 4. at 7 p.m. Traffic had been rerouted since April through the hospital’s main entrance to expedite the check-in process while the ED lobby was closed due to a renovation.

Virginia State Police were still on scene at 8:30 a.m. with an overturned fuel-carrying tractor trailer on I-64 westbound just west of the 147 mile marker in Louisa County. The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m., according to VSP Sgt. Stephan Vick. UPDATE: at 9:36 a.m. - All westbound lanes continue to remain closed and will be for a couple of more hours while cleanup continues.

On Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 at 9:53 a.m., Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to a townhouse fire located in the 16800 block of Nuttall Oak Place in Dumfries. Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews observed fire on the third floor balcony of the townhome.

Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt a new ordinance to restructure the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue Service. The new structure includes a system chief, an executive committee, and a budget advisory and financial planning committee.
