Overturned fuel tanker truck on I-64 westbound in Louisa County leaking fuel
Virginia State Police were still on scene at 8:30 a.m. with an overturned fuel-carrying tractor trailer on I-64 westbound just west of the 147 mile marker in Louisa County. The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m., according to VSP Sgt. Stephan Vick.
The tractor trailer (tanker) was traveling west on I-64 when it ran off the road to the left into the median an overturned. There was a substantial diesel fuel leak from the tanker truck and Hazmat crews are currently on scene.
The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries. Expect delays in the area as cleanup continues.
The investigation is ongoing, Sgt.Vick said.
