On October 25, 2020, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash involving the accused in the Miami-Dade area of the state. During the investigation into the crash, troopers located Brian’s remains in the trunk area of the vehicle. On Saturday, May 22 at 11:59AM, just before noon, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 1500 block of Hylton Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) the prior evening.

The investigation revealed that while in the above area, the victims, identified as a 32-year-old woman and 61-year-old woman, observed the driver of a white Mercedes, exit his vehicle, and approach their vehicle. During the encounter, the suspect exposed himself to the victims before making inappropriate gestures.

The investigation revealed that while parked in the shopping center parking lot, the two men were struck by gunfire. The men fled the area in their vehicle before stopping a short distance away and notifying the police.

On Sunday, May 23 at 7:48AM, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department's Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Cardinal Dr. and Swan Way in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a two-vehicle crash.
