Shooting investigation in Montclair shopping center parking lot

Shooting Investigation – On Friday, May 21 at 9:25PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Lake Montclair Center located at 5061 Waterway Dr. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a shooting. While responding, officers received information that an involved vehicle was in the area of Waterway Dr. and Golf Club Dr.

When officers located the vehicle, they made contact with the occupants, identified as a 19-year-old man and 20-year-old man, both of whom were suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid to the men until rescue personnel arrived and transported them to area hospitals for further treatment. The investigation revealed that while parked in the shopping center parking lot, the two men were struck by gunfire. The men fled the area in their vehicle before stopping a short distance away and notifying the police.

A police K-9 and Fairfax County police helicopter searched the area for any other parties involved. Detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting. Detectives continue to seek assistance from any witness to the incident. The investigation continues.
