Due to the weather, a brief closing of the Aden Road Bridge in Prince William County has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 19 and Thursday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crews will perform geotechnical borings in the area.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is preparing for another potential winter storm tonight, Sunday March 16, and advises drivers to stay off roads during freezing rain and snow expected through tomorrow morning.

The City of Manassas is declaring a Snow Emergency effective at 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014. This means that vehicles parked along designated snow emergency routes are subject to towing and fines.

Virginia Department of Transportation crews are aggressively pretreating roads throughout Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Arlington counties in advance of the heavy snow predicated for tonight. By midnight, almost 4,000 trucks will be staged along interstates, major roads and neighborhood streets

At its meeting on February 5, the Prince William County School Board approved Boundary Plan 1.1B for the new “Haymarket Drive” Elementary School recommended by the planning committee with two caveats.

Two meetings are scheduled for the public to learn more about strategies being considered to transform 25 miles of Interstate 66 between the Beltway and Haymarket. A Jan. 30 meeting is in Fairfax. A Feb. 5 meeting is in Prince William County.
