PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) on Jan. 15 applauded an announcement by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) that it intends to acquire a 60-acre land parcel on US 50 east of Winchester for construction of a new $98 million FBI records facility, a news release stated.

As part of National Radon Action Month, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is encouraging all residents to test their homes for radon. According to the EPA, test kits are available in home improvement centers, hardware stores and online at a cost of approximately $20. The kits are simple to use with easy testing and mailing instructions, the EPA added.
Outstanding orchestra students from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) at the middle and high school levels will combine their talents for an afternoon of music at the upcoming All County Orchestra program, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30 at Stonewall Jackson High School. Prince William Board of County Supervisors discussed concerns at its Jan. 12 meeting over Dominion Virginia Power's request to discharge of water from its coal ash ponds at Possum Point. The Board directed County staff to attend the Virginia Water Control Board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m. and brief the Board on any relevant information arising from the meeting.
