Prince William County Schools closed for King’s holiday Jan. 18 and more

The 2015–16 School Calendar for PWCS includes the following dates for January and February 2016:

On Monday, Jan. 18 all PWCS schools and central offices will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The School Age Child Care program will also be closed.

Friday, Jan. 29, will be a half-day for elementary schools for scheduled parent/teacher conferences.

Elementary school schedules will include a regular lunch period prior to dismissal. Head Start and Preschool Special Education classes will not be held. The School Age Child Care program will be open from the half-day dismissal time until regular closing (6:30 p.m.) for students who are registered for after-school care only and for before- and after-school care. (Before-care only students may not attend the afternoon program.)

A teacher workday for all schools is scheduled on Monday, Feb. 1. SACC will offer a full day program from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for all SACC students. Some of the SACC programs will be combined. The Next Generation middle school program does not operate on teacher workdays.

On Monday, Feb. 15 all PWCS schools and central offices will be closed in observance of Presidents Day. The School Age Child Care program will also be closed.
