PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Crews are making significant progress on 16,000 subdivision streets across northern Virginia. The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) goal is to make one lane of all subdivisions passable by 6 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27. Due to snow accumulation and pile-up, Manassas Park City officials ask that residents hold their trash until next week, at which time it will be picked up by Patriot Disposal.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports that interstates and primaries in northern Virginia are mostly in passable condition, and crews are making significant progress on secondary roads and subdivision streets.
The City Manager has put in placed parking prohibitions on all City of Manassas Park Streets designated as snow emergency routes until 6 pm, Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
All Prince William County Public Schools closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 25-26. Code Red for employees. All school division activities including Professional Development sessions are cancelled. SACC will not open. Telework subject to policy.
Snow is melting and pooling in travel lanes and will turn into ice overnight. Therefore, VSP advises those who are having to travel overnight or early Monday morning to use extreme caution. Black ice will be a serious threat and drivers are advised to keep their speeds down, buckle up, and remain alert to slick spots on the road.

Prince William County emergency officials were finding safe places for 67 people to stay after an apartment building roof in the Coverstone section of Manassas collapsed shortly after midnight, Jan. 24, likely from heavy snow. Building officials are on scene now, determining the actual cause.
Virginia State Police report there are a number of people walking in the roads and putting themselves at risk due to the slick conditions. If you DO have to walk, Va. State Police urge that you wear bright, reflective clothing…walk against traffic so you can see any oncoming vehicles…and do not walk distracted (no texting or earbuds).
