PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Grants announced by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) March 9 will support cybercamp programs for Manassas and Manassas Park high school students as well as students in 36 other localities this summer.
At least three members of the Prince William County School Board (Chairman Sawyers, Ms. Raulston, and Ms. Jessie) are planning to attend a special meeting with the faculty of Godwin Middle School March 10 at 3:15 p.m.
The public is invited to attend a citizen's information meeting from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on March 23 to get input and discuss the proposed widening of U.S. 1 between Featherstone Road and Marys Way. The meeting will be held at Potomac Community Library, 2201 Opitz Boulevard in Woodbridge.

Stanley Martin Homes wants to build 350 to 400 homes on the eastern part of the tract and secure a partner to design the remaining part of the site for commercial purposes. Plans could include an entrance to the parkway across from Hynson Drive and another on the parkway extension. Both entrances would be controlled by traffic signals.

Lake Ridge Lions are accepting applications for a $1,000 scholarship from qualified students. Applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee by April 15th. The Lions Memorial Scholarship, given for 40+ years, is awarded to a student living in Lake Ridge (22192) who exemplifies the spirit of service to others, a spirit that was the hallmark in the lives of fellow Lions, James Dunivin, Horace Franklin, Donald Keyes, Bill Briggs, and Gina Reyes.

Battlefield High School will host a conversation March 17 for parents and students on recovering from difficult events that take a serious toll.
This week, as part of ongoing County and VDOT projects, there will be some new road closures in the Gainesville District, according to the office of Gainesville District Supervisor Pete Candland.
