Body Mass Index or BMI, a calculation using height and weight, is commonly used to classify patients into weight categories including underweight, normal weight, overweight, and stages of obesity.
C. D. Hylton High School mathematics teacher Lauren Anne Wilson is the seventh PWCS educator to win the prestigious Milken Educator Award. The national recognition honors her exceptional teaching ability, dedication to her students, and leadership in her school and community. At a schoolwide assembly on March 3 Wilson was surprised when she received the Milken Educator Award and $25,000 from Milken Family Foundation Co-Founder Michael Milken.
This bill changes the current Virginia law, which requires an appraiser to personally inspect a damaged vehicle before creating an estimate, to allow insurance companies to make decisions based on photos.

Prince William County elected officials, Northern Virginia Community College representatives and community leaders helped cut a ribbon March 2 to open the Regional Center for Workforce Education and Training at the community college's Woodbridge Campus.

Brig. Gen. Clara Leach Adams-Ender (U.S. Army, Retired) of Lake Ridge, a “Living Legend” of American nursing and a pioneer of military equality, “Let Freedom Ring” March 4, when she visited Williamsburg’s historic First Baptist Church and rang its restored Freedom Bell, silent from the period of segregation until this year.
Through a joint investigation March 3 with the Northern Virginia Gang task force, ATF, and the Manassas City Police Department arrest warrants were issued for Manuel Gonzalez for possession of a fire arm by a felon, use of a fire arm in the commission of a felony, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and discharge of a fire arm in public. The incident began around 1:30m p.m. with report of shots fired. Children were held at school.
Michael “Buddy” Lint, New Dominion Alternative Center Principal, has been named Prince William County Public Schools Principal of the Year! He was selected from among three principals nominated for the prestigious award. As the recipient of the School Division award, he now becomes a finalist in The Washington Post Principal of the Year recognition program. The Post will announce its winner in April.
New “Ferlazzo” site school will be Kyle R. Wilson Elementary. Current Godwin Middle School will be renamed the Dr. George M. Hampton Middle School.
