Lake Ridge Rotary’s Flag for Heroes Nov. 11 at county complex

Lake Ridge Rotary invites the community to its first Flags For Heroes event at PWC’s 9/11 Memorial Park next to PW Parkway on Nov. 11 from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. An “All Veterans Muster” will take place early in the morning at 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 11.

All city of Manassas voting precincts will be quiet on primary day, Aug. 23. There are no political contests affecting city voters.

Women of the Civil War

Raleigh Gary Nelson, retired USPS mechanic, motorcyclist, father of four

Raleigh Gary Nelson, 67, passed away Nov. 1, 2018. Visitation will be held at Pierce Funeral home in Manassas on Monday Nov. 5, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at Nokesville Church of the Brethren where he was a lifelong member. Interment will follow.

Dr. Carl Henry Ernst, world turtle expert, retired Geo. Mason professor, Smithsonian researcher

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service for Dr. Carl Henry Ernst of Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 110 N Mulberry St, Lancaster, PA 17603, where he was a member. Dr. Ernst passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at the age of 80.

Lisa Lamoureux, who worked in Prince William County Public Schools for more than 20 years, beginning as a substitute teacher in 1997, died Oct. 20, 2018. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Oct. 25, 2018 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA.
