PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
Ryan Ferrera, previously a social studies teacher at Battlefield High School who moved on to become an assistant principal, has been appointed principal of Battlefeld High School in Haymarket. He will replace Principal Amy Ethridge-Conti who is retiring.

On May 6, detectives from the Homicide Unit received confirmation that the victim located on April 29 near a drainage ditch in the area of Cotton Mill Rd and Griffin Ave in Woodbridge was Lizeth Yadira LOPEZ. Detectives are currently working in conjunction with the Medical Examiner’s Office to investigate the results of the autopsy

The final local public hearing for testimony to be presented for the Dominion Power 230 kV and Haymarket Substation project–to provide electricity to what is thought to be an Amazon data center in Haymarket–was held at 7 p.m. on May 2 at Battlefield High School.

It was standing room only in McCoart Government Center May 6 as Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted 5-3 to keep a flat real estate tax rate at 1.112 per $100 of assessed valuation and to retain the existing revenue sharing arrangement it has with county schools.

Prince William County's Department of Fire and Rescue held its graduation ceremony for the 21 members of Recruit Class 2015-2 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas on Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m. Battalion Chief Robert L. Clemons presided over the ceremony.
