The police report said the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, lost control of the vehicle which left the roadway in Dale City before entering a ravine which caused the vehicle to roll over.
As the first of two forecasted snowstorms makes its way across Virginia Wednesday, residents are encouraged to plan ahead, be prepared and avoid unnecessary travel. Virginia State Police will have all available troopers and supervisors working in advance of and the duration of the storms as they make their way across and into the Commonwealth.

With the cold temperatures finally setting in and an impending snow storms on the horizon you may be rushing about buying toilet paper and bread, thinking about cuddling up by the fire and either hoping for or dreading school closures. While we are all preparing. we would like to remind the community of some of the overlooked dangers of the frigid temperatures and the toll of snow removal.
Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative is preparing for snow that weather forecasters say could reach Northern Virginia on Friday, Jan. 22. "If we get heavy wet snow or ice, we could have trees and branches falling on power lines and causing outages," Larry Shaffer, vice president, System Operations, was quoted as saying in a press release.
Stonewall Jackson High School and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) will host Super Saturday on Feb. 6 rescheduled from Jan. 23 from 9 a.m.–noon at Stonewall Jackson High School, located at 8820 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA.
Battlefield High School invites the community to attend the Haymaker STEM Expo on Saturday, Feb. 6, rescheduled from Jan. 23. The event will offer a multitude of family-friendly activities for students and adults of all ages. Admission is free, and the event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday's expected snow storm has caused the grand opening of Habitat for Humanity's ReStore at its new location to be rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ReStore's new location is in the shopping center at the corner of Hastings Drive and VA 234 (Dumfries Rd.) near the Prince William County Fairgrounds.
On Tuesday, January 19, All Prince William County Public Schools will open two hours late due to the projected sub-zero temperatures in the morning. SACC will open two hours late. These precautions will ensure the safety of all students, especially the thousands who walk to school.
