Lane closures for milling and paving will occur nightly on part of Shoppers Best Way from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Aug. 25, and on portions of Featherstone Road and Blackburn Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28 through Thursday, Sept. 1, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

School Division staff work hard to ensure the safety of students on buses, but their safety also depends largely on the willingness of motorists to follow laws concerning school buses.

“We are rededicating this school because we want to honor a man who has been a pillar of this community and who can be a role model for every single student who comes through our school doors," said Steve Walts, superintendent of schools for Prince William County.

The State Central Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia on Aug. 27 selected a primary as the method of nomination for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General in 2017.

“Sen Mark Warner was quoted in a press release as saying, "I’ve consistently urged the FAA to move forward with regulations to make safe operation of unmanned aircraft in U.S. airspace a reality, and implementation of this new rule is a major step forward."
