On December 2, members of the U.S. Marshal led Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the suspect involved in the murder of Cordrey Douglas Jackson which occurred at the Food Lion located at 6306 Hoadly Rd in Manassas on November 29.

On December 1, detectives from the Prince William County Police Department's Homicide Unit identified the suspects involved in the murder of Jose Moises GARCIA FLORES which occurred in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge on October 8.

U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, has introduced legislation to give Wells Fargo customers who were victims of a fraudulent account scheme their day in court.
Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative Board of Directors has approved returning $3.1 million in CashBack to customer-owners during the December billing cycle. NOVEC will also give power-cost-adjustment credits to customers in 2017.
Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Nov. 30 that Virginia will receive $17.5 million through the federal Preschool Expansion Grant. These funds will allow the Commonwealth to continue to serve at-risk four-year-olds in high-quality pre-kindergarten programs across the state. Prince William County was among 11 localities that will receive funding for preschool programs.
