PWC’s new Central Police Station to be named in honor of retired Chief Charlie T. Deane

Prince William Board of County Supervisors Nov. 21 voted to name the new Central District Police Station after retired Police Chief Charlie T. Deane. When he retired in 2012 with 42 years service, Deane was the longest-serving of the original 42-member of the Prince William County Police Department.

Glenkirk Elem. holds “Knight at the Museum”

Glenkirk Elementary School in Gainesville, Va., hosted “Knight at the Museum” to display artwork from kindergarteners through fifth-graders. Artwork designed to honor America, such as the flag shown here, as well as creations to show celebrations in many countries around the world, adorned the walls of the school that opened its doors to the community to feature the many young artists.

Spring Tea celebrates mothers

Prince William Health System Foundation's 8th annual Spring Tea, on May 15, was held at Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. The event brought mothers and daughters of all ages together. This mother and daughter even color-coordinated their outfits. Many area residents and businesspeople remembered loved ones they lost to breast cancer. The tea was a fundraiser for The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas. Many silent auction items were awarded to the highest bidders.

Charles Jones Sr. of Haymarket, retired service manager of Capital Cadillac, father of five

Funeral services were held at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manassas, Va. on Nov. 15, 2017 for Charles Edward Jones, Sr., 78, of Haymarket, Va., who joined his Lord in heaven on Nov. 9, 2017. Interment was at Stonewall Memory Gardens. His son, Pastor Charles Edward Jones, Jr. officiated.

William “Carl” Puckett of Nokesville died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2017. Funeral services will be private.
