ith 70 quilt images on display countywide, the Blue Ridge Barn Quilt Trail in Greene County is Virginia’s largest barn quilt trail and one of the largest in the U.S., according to the Greene County Department of Economic Development and Tourism. Barn quilts are squares of wood painted to look like a quilt block and displayed on the exterior of a barn, house, garage or business.

National Park Service plans prescribed fire at Antietam National Battlefield

The National Park Service (NPS) is preparing for a prescribed 13-acre fire at Antietam National Battlefield between March 26 and April 5, 2019. These dates may be extended depending upon weather conditions.

Civil War buffs will be able to retrace a noted Civil War battle that occurred in Manassas on the afternoon of August 30, 1862 during an April 14 walking tour at Manassas National Battlefield Park (Va. 234 and US 29) led by historian John Hennessy.
