PWC Police Dept. Crime Report May 6, 2024: Fatal crash in Manassas, dead body in Woodbridge

PW Police said the body was in a decomposed state and transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause of death.

Glenkirk Elementary School in Gainesville, Va., hosted “Knight at the Museum” to display artwork from kindergarteners through fifth-graders. Artwork designed to honor America, such as the flag shown here, as well as creations to show celebrations in many countries around the world, adorned the walls of the school that opened its doors to the community to feature the many young artists.

Spring Tea celebrates mothers

Prince William Health System Foundation's 8th annual Spring Tea, on May 15, was held at Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. The event brought mothers and daughters of all ages together. This mother and daughter even color-coordinated their outfits. Many area residents and businesspeople remembered loved ones they lost to breast cancer. The tea was a fundraiser for The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas. Many silent auction items were awarded to the highest bidders.

Margaret Mitchell McLeod Price, a teacher at Stonewall Middle School (now Unity Braxton) in Manassas for 26 years until her retirement in 1999, died Jan. 26, 2024. She was an avid traveler and had visited 49 states and numerous foreign countries.
