PW Police report passenger dies from injuries sustained in an April 15 traffic collision

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup truck was traveling westbound on Yates Ford Rd. approaching Evans Ford Rd. when a 1993 Buick Roadmaster traveling eastbound on Yates Ford Rd. entered the intersection in front of the truck’s path of travel. The truck and Roadmaster collided within the intersection. The driver and female passenger of the Roadmaster were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A Pug in the Roadmaster was declared deceased on scene.

Hearings March 10 & 12 on PRTC proposed FY 2016 budget

PRTC will hold public hearings in Woodbridge and Manassas next week to present its proposed Fiscal Year 2016 budget and accept public comments about the plan that calls for curtailing some services, raising fares and applying for federal grants. The $68 million budget is austere because of financial limitations, according to Christine Rodreigo, PRTC spokesman.

NOVA-Manassas presents discussion on Chinese culture March 23

On March 23 at 6:30 p.m., the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will host “Chinese Culture and Growing Up in a Communist Country,” a presentation by Grace Yao and Dong Xiang. The event, which begins with light refreshments at 6 p.m., is free and open to the community.

Margaret Mitchell McLeod Price, a teacher at Stonewall Middle School (now Unity Braxton) in Manassas for 26 years until her retirement in 1999, died Jan. 26, 2024. She was an avid traveler and had visited 49 states and numerous foreign countries.
