The Prince William Republican Committee will meet at Park Valley Church in Haymarket tonight so Gainesville District Republicans can choose a candidate for Gainesville Supervisor. Carol Fox, the GOP's Gainesville District chairman, will chair tonight's meeting. The candidate will be on the ballot in a Feb. 21 Special Election being held to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Pete Candland.

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Government Operations, says the GOP's rules package would "dismantle the federal workforce and carry out political vendettas at the expense of career civil servants."

This morning, Jan. 1. 2023, at 11:44 a.m. Prince William fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 5900 block of Yates Ford Road (Buckhall) for a reported house fire. Crews arrived to observe fire extending to and through the attic, according to Matt Smolsky, assistant fire chief.
