The July 26, 2017 Planning Commission work session on Alternative Septic Systems in Prince William County has been canceled.

In 2016, the Board of County Supervisors directed the County Executive to work with the Fire and Rescue Association to determine whether the existing framework of the Prince William County Fire and Rescue system was the best alternative to provide service and assistance to county residents. The directive came after two volunteer fire companies were merged into the PW Dept. of Fire and Rescue (DFR) due to inability to maintain service level contracted by the board.

The all-organic and sustainability garden behind the Manassas Senior Center is full of life and color, including different shades of purples, greens and reds. While the garden is pretty to look at, it is also put to good use by the center.

With more information available to residents on how to recycle, they have been working to reduce the amount of “contaminated” materials by washing out their plastic and metal containers and not putting plastic carrier bags in with recycling.
