Woodbridge church worker hears noises; police find broken glass and wood inside building

**INCIDENTS**

Attempted Burglary to a Place of Worship – On July 24 at 1:34PM, officers responded to the St. Margaret Episcopal Church located at 5290 Saratoga Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The caller reported to police that she was working inside the church when she heard a noise coming from the front door. The front door area was checked by the caller and nothing was found. The caller went back to work and, a short time later, heard noises from another area of the church. At one point, the caller heard a loud thud and immediately contacted police. Officers checked the exterior of the building and located two ladders, one of which was up against a wall. Upon checking the attic area, officers located broken glass and wood. No suspect was located and no property was reported missing.

Strong Armed Robbery – On July 25 at 6:46PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Cardinal Dr and Perch Branch Way in Woodbridge (22193) on July 24 at approximately 10:00PM. The victim, a 15-year old male juvenile, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by two male suspects. During the encounter, one of the suspects demanded the victim’s property and, at one point, struck him in the face. The suspects took the victim’s money, watch, and cell phone before fleeing the area on foot. The victim returned to his residence the next day where he notified a family member who then contacted police. The victim was not injured.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, late teens, 5’6”, 120lbs with a thin build, dark complexion and short black hair
Last seen wearing a black shirt with gray shorts and gray shoes

Black male, late teens, 5’9”, 150lbs with a thin build, light complexion and medium length hair
Last seen wearing a white sleeveless shirt, brown shorts and white sneakers – carrying a red backpack

Abduction | Domestic Related *ARREST – On July 25, Prince William County Police officers located the accused, Michael Kelly PUCKETT, who was wanted in connection to a domestic altercation which occurred at a residence located in the 10400 block of Lonesome Rd in Nokesville on July 23. Police received an anonymous tip, which ultimately led officers to his location where he was arrested without incident. 
Arrested on July 25:
Michael Kelly PUCKETT, 48, of the 10400 block of Lonesome Rd in Nokesville
Charged with abduction, domestic assault & battery, and destruction of property
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Abduction | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On July 23 at 3:30AM, officers responded to investigate a domestic which occurred earlier that morning at a residence located in the 10400 block of Lonesome Rd in Nokesville (20181). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 48-year-old woman of Nokesville, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, a family member, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a kitchen knife and threatened the victim. The accused then punched the victim in the face and prevented her from leaving the residence. At some point, the victim was able to escape and get in her vehicle. As the victim was attempting to drive away, the accused broke a window and attempted to her. The victim was eventually able to flee the area then contact police. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Michael Kelly PUCKETT. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

**ARRESTS**

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 25 at 10:33PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3200 block of Berlin Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 19-year old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically. During the encounter, the accused allegedly put the victim in a chokehold. Once released, the victim fell to the ground. The parties eventually separated and the accused left the home. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused, identified as Tony Edward BEST. The warrant on accused was served on July 26.

Charged with strangulation
