PWC Police make arrest in connection with Jan. 9. 2025 shooting.
A special work session for final markup on the FY 2019 Prince William County Schools budget is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the Kelly Leadership Center in Manassas, off VA 234 and near the PW Animal Shelter.

Under Prince William County Schools' policies and the Virginia Code, Lillie Jessie, Vice Chairman and Occoquan District Representative, will perform the duties of the Chair, until the School Board appoints an Interim Chairman. Interested candidates must submit their resumés to the Clerk of the School Board by March 17.

After serving a little more than half the term to which he was elected, Ryan Sawyers, Chairman-at-large of the Prince William County School Board, resigned his position today, March 7. HIs resignation was sent in a letter written to Lillie Jessie, the school board's vice chairman who also represents the Occoquan District.

Virginia Department of Transportation says its crews are mobilizing for precipitation that is forecasted to fall starting tonight into Wednesday morning. VDOT asks drivers to keep monitoring forecasts and to plan ahead for an impacted Wednesday morning commute.

NOVEC has restored service to most of its 40,000-plus customers who lost power during the storm, and is now pouring all its efforts into getting the lights on for approximately 250 more customers by midweek. With 100+ broken utility poles, crews have to cut away branches; remove power lines, transformers, and other equipment on the pole; erect and secure a new pole; and then reattach lines and equipment. It's time-intensive and dangerous work, according to NOVEC.
Manassas is looking for volunteers at five April events to "Keep Manassas Beautiful." Manassas residents and businesses are invited to adopt a cleanup project of their choosing and add to the city's charm, beauty and appeal.
