The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) wants everyone to know that September is Honey Month across the Commonwealth. Governor Ralph Northam declared September Virginia Honey Month for many reasons. Here are VDACS’ top three:
U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) released the following statement Sept. 7 on his decision to vote against the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. He said, "“I acknowledge that Judge Kavanaugh is a hard-working public servant who has won the admiration of many...in these troubling times, I fear his confirmation to the Supreme Court would compromise judicial independence and threaten critical precedents.”

Governor Ralph Northam sent a letter to Del Kirk Cox, Speaker of the Virginia House House of Delegates on Sept. 7, urging him to request that the Court begin to redraw the 11 unconstitutional House of Delegates districts so that Virginians will have constitutional lines enacted in time for June 2019 primaries, according to a news release from the Governor's Office.
September is National Preparedness Month, and the Prince William County Office of Emergency Management is trying to help county residents prepare for any emergency that may arise. This year's theme is "Disasters Happen. Prepare Now. Learn How."
