As our community and country struggle with the horrific death of Mr. George Floyd, many parents of children, teens and young adults are seeking concrete ways to talk, and act to heal the tremendous hurt and injustice done throughout American history. Four community educators, who teach college, elementary students and mentor young men are lending their voices and perspectives on how to be part of the solution. They include Dr. Michael Otaigbe, Roxanne Edwards, Liz Bush and Gil Knowles.

On June 13, 2020 Prince William County Police Department detectives with the Special Victims Unit concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in the Manassas (20109) area of Prince William County between January 2008 and January 2017. The victim was 3-11 at time of alleged incidents, police said.

On June 14, Prince William County Police Department detectives with the Special Victims Unit concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at the Sleep Inn located at 17470 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Dumfries (22026) on June 4.

OmniRide announced June 15 that it will resume operating all routes and increase service levels on OmniRide Express buses starting Monday, June 22. Weekday Express service to destinations in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., will run on a Friday schedule. It all hinges on the improving COVID-19 conditions, and the Governor’s order to begin reopening the state.

Early on Monday, June 15, 2020 an unknown individual brandished a firearm and fired several shots into the air before fleeing on foot towards Broker Ln. in Woodbridge. No injuries or property damage were reported. Shell casings were located in the roadway, according to police.
