The victim reported to police that she was walking in the Coverstone Apts. area when she was approached by an acquaintance, identified as the accused. During the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when the accused grabbed the victim and put his hands on her throat.

On October 22 at 6:09AM, investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Springwoods Dr and Old Bridge Rd to investigate a two-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2011 Ford Explorer made a left turn from Glenridge Dr onto Springwoods Dr, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. The driver of the Ford continued in the wrong direction until the vehicle collided with the driver of a 2011 Toyota Camry, who was traveling northbound on Springwoods Dr.
