A Sept. 6 memorial ceremony has been set to allow community members to pay their respects to the former residents whose remains were found and now reinterred at the site of Prince William County's 12th high school now under construction near Independent Hill. The full House Appropriations Committee July 15 approved by voice vote an amendment to the annual spending bill that funds the Interior Department to move the holiday celebrating Washington’s Birthday back to his actual birthday, February 22. If approved, it would start in 2017.
