The Accomack Co Sheriff's Office is looking for HOWARD SHRIEVES JR. He is a black male, age 80, approximately 6'1 and weighing approximately 175 lbs. He was last known to be driving a black 1999 Ford Escort with Virginia plate VKB 2761. He was wearing a blue plaid shirt, blue pants, black boots, blue jacket and a brown baseball cap.

Virginians are solidly opposed to President Obama’s plans to allow Syrian refugees into the country, with many residents concerned that doing so would make a future terrorist attack more likely, according to a new survey sponsored by the University of Mary Washington’s Center for Leadership and Media Studies.

This Saturday, Nov. 14, Prince William Republican Women’s Club will host an appreciation event for local law enforcement. The “We Love You Blue” rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Woodbridge to honor Prince William County Police Department, the Dumfries Police Department, the Prince William County Sheriff’s Department, and the U.S. Marshall Service.

Beginning in 2016, residents who want to practice family medicine will have an opportunity to complete their training with the Novant Health Family Medicine Residency in Cornelius, NC. Residents will complete three years of extensive training with rotations in community clinics as well as Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center and Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced on Veterans Day 2015 that Virginia has been certified by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs as the first state in the nation to functionally end veteran homelessness.
