Virginia State Police is mourning the loss of its 63rd member to die in the line of duty since 1932. Special Agent Michael T. Walter, 45, succumbed to his injuries from a shooting shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday (May 27, 2017) at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

Va. State Police Special Agent shot

Virginia State Police and City of Richmond Police are actively searching for a male subject who shot a Virginia State Police Special Agent Friday evening (May 26) in the 1900 block of Redd St. in City of Richmond. The suspect is described as a black male of medium build approximately 5’8 to 5’10 in height. He has close-cropped hair and was wearing a red, possibly plaid, button-up shirt with ¾ inch sleeves and khaki cargo shorts or pants.

NEW Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge warmly welcomed and dedicated

Elected officials, staff, students, and nearly 300 families joined Prince William County Schools Superintendent Steve Walts to officially rededicate R. Dean Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge on May 23. The bright, spacious, and colorful building replaces the school that opened on the same site in 1959, some 56 years ago.
