Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Jan. 9 opened a new office of Virginia Dept. of Veterans Services to serve veterans and transitioning servicemen and women and their families who work in the headquarters of the US Department of Defense. The new VDVS Pentagon location marks the 30th office location in the state. In addition, 30,000+ veterans have been hired through our Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program since its inception five years ago.

“Coach Sudduth gave nearly 40 years of his life to Osbourn and this community,” said Ira DeGrood, OHS athletic director. “He was the ultimate example of what an OHS Eagle is and our committee felt that naming the court in his honor would allow his name to live on in the building he loved so much.”

Prince William County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 17. 2018 in the board chambers at 1 County Complex Court, Prince William VA 22192.

Lillie G. Jessie, of the Occoquan District, was reelected to a third term as vice chairman for 2018 at the School Board’s annual organizational meeting on Jan. 3. Jessie first joined the School Board in 2012 and was reelected in November 2015.

Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles’ mobile operation is expanding in Northern Virginia. In addition to the mobile customer service centers, called DMV 2 Go, that are traveling across the state, Northern Virginia has a new DMV service outlet – DMV Connect.

Governor-elect Ralph Northam Jan. 3 announced at Richmond Electricians’ Joint Apprenticeship and Training Center in Ashland that Megan Healy will join his administration as Chief Workforce Development Advisor, which will be elevated to the cabinet level in Northam’s administration.
