Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Jan. 9 opened a new office of Virginia Dept. of Veterans Services to serve veterans and transitioning servicemen and women and their families who work in the headquarters of the US Department of Defense. The new VDVS Pentagon location marks the 30th office location in the state. In addition, 30,000+ veterans have been hired through our Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program since its inception five years ago.

Lillie G. Jessie, of the Occoquan District, was reelected to a third term as vice chairman for 2018 at the School Board’s annual organizational meeting on Jan. 3. Jessie first joined the School Board in 2012 and was reelected in November 2015.
