Bishop Burbidge suspends all public masses due to coronavirus

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, Diocese of Arlington, issued a video message March 16 to the faithful in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19). In the video, Bishop Burbidge announced that the public celebration of all Masses in the Diocese is suspended until further notice. He asked priests to keep churches open for prayer but stressed social distancing and not exceeding the 10-person limit.

PW County Executive Chris Martino declares local “State of Emergency”

County Executive Chris Martino signed a Declaration of Local State of Emergency for Prince William County in response to the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control to limit crowds of people to 50 or less to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The county remains at three confirmed cases.

PWC parent education classes have been canceled

Parenting classes offered through the Prince William office of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) have been canceled until further notice.

PWC cancels outside meetings, closes sites, encourages online and phone contact

Residents are strongly encouraged to do business with Prince William County Government online or via the phone, if possible. In addition, residents should call the office they wish to visit before making the trip.

Walts announces PW schools closings and more due to COVID-19

Recognizing any changes to school operations have significant impacts on students, I am announcing a number of actions only after serious and considerable deliberation with stakeholders across the County. Our goal is to continue to provide instruction in a safe and effective manner. At this time there is no known direct case of COVID-19 within any PWCS school. Medical examiner called in after unconscious man—found on Dale Blvd. Dec. 28-dies at local hospital

On Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024 at 1:18AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the intersection of Dale Blvd and the I95 northbound ramp in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an unconscious man in the roadway.

Jailed husband charged with conspiring to murder 23-year-old wife Feb. 2, 2024 in Woodbridge

Amy Ashworth, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince William County, in conjunction with the ongoing investigation led by Prince William County police, announced criminal indictments for two additional men, and two other men previously arrested in connection with the Woodbridge murder of a woman, Egypt Zapporah CARTER, 23, in February.
