NOVEC HELPS asks for holiday gift donations for children and teens

NOVEC HELPS, is collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children and teens living in area homeless shelters. Donations may be dropped off through Friday, Dec. 8, at the NOVEC office at 10323 Lomond Drive. Manassas.

Piedmont Regional Art Show to be held Oct. 22-24 in The Plains for 73rd year

The show is a fundraiser for the church and as a showcase for area artists to exhibit their work. There is a Friday night gala on Oct. 22 (admission $15 per person, free to artists and sponsors) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 to view the entries. Admission is free. Proof of a COVID vaccination or negative PCR test within 72 hours is required of those attending the show or gala.

Tee Off for Education raises $108,000+ for PWC Schools’ education foundation grants

The 25th “Tee Off for Education” Golf Classic benefit Aug. 3 raised more than $108,000 for SPARK, the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools, according to a news release.

In an effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, the Dixon family of 6651 Hunting Path Road, Haymarket, is hosting a lemonade stand on Saturday, June 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the goal of raising $400 during Lemonade Days.

Park Valley Church’s Disaster Team heading to Texas Sept. 8; supplies needed

Haymarket's Park Valley Church's Disaster Relief Team (PVC DRT) will be deploying to flood ravaged Houston to bring supplies, help, and Jesus to a community in need, according to a news release, and local donations of supplies are needed. On September 8th, a team of approximately eight volunteers will be driving two moving trucks full of supplies 23+ hours to Houston, Texas.
