From now unti;Jan. 1, 2024, 145 Virginia law enforcement agencies will participate in the holiday wave of Virginia’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Law enforcement officers will conduct 646 individual saturation patrols and 71 sobriety checkpoints across the Commonwealth.

The Virginia Board of Historic Resources approved six new highway historical markers on Sept. 21, 2023. The markers range from one acknowledging an enslaved man who created a cure for a widespread disease to a popular racehorse named Boston, who is said to have won 40 of 45 races. It takes about six months from approval to erection of the markers. None are in Prince William County.

Amazon will establish a multi-story robotics fulfillment center and delivery station, which will bring more than 1,000 new full-time jobs. The Amazon center is anticipated to launch operations in 2025, with the delivery station anticipated to launch in 2024 in time for the holiday season.

Police said their investigation revealed the drivers of a 2011 BMW 535, and a 2014 Nissan 370 Z were traveling southbound on Minnieville Rd. at a high rate of speed when the driver of the Nissan attempted an aggressive maneuver to pass a pick-up truck, then lost control of the vehicle and struck the driver’s side area of the BMW. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway.
