U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, (D-VA) a member of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee and the Senate Help, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, released the following statement applauding the Aug. 9 introduction of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 budget resolution that will set the stage for a historic investment that he says "will lower costs and cut taxes for American families:"

PWC Planning Commission moves location, changes citizen comment rules for next two meetings

The location for the Prince William County Planning Commission meetings scheduled for Aug. 25 and Sept. 1, 2021 have been moved from the board chambers at McCoart Center to the Ferlazzo Building, and neither remote nor virtual Public Comment will be available, "due to off-site limitations."

Experienced Va. wildland firefighter crews and managers head west to help fight fires

Virginia Department of Forestry has deployed 39 employees to serve as ground forces on fire line crews or as support staff in fire management roles throughout the west. The firefighters from Virginia will be fighting blazes in remote locations, under adverse weather conditions. Assignments are normally for a 14-day period, not counting travel.

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) on July 30, 2021, announced an extension of its moratorium on evictions for foreclosed borrowers and their occupants through September 30, 2021, and noted the expiration of the foreclosure moratorium on July 31, 2021.

Nokesville and Evergreen trash service changing to self-serve

Trash and recycling collection staff at the Nokesville and Evergreen sites will no longer remove material from customers' vehicles. Residents should "come prepared to use this program on a self-serve basis," according to a county news release.
