Prince William Fire and Rescue Crews arrived shortly after a 6:20 AM dispatch for a reported chemical spill in the 7500 block of Notes Drive, Manassas, with several employees reporting difficulty breathing, according to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief.

Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief of Prince William County Fire & Rescue, reports that emergency units were dispatched at 1:27 p.m. and are standing by to assist two victims trapped on a mobile power lift into high-tension electrical lines. There were power outages in eastern Prince William. Later, at 5:19 p.m., Smolsky reported that the two victims, identified as a man and a women, had been rescued, one at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday, and one at 5:01p.m. and were taken to Sentara Medical Center in Woodbridge. At 11:09 p.m. Tuesday evening, Smolsky said The male victim of today’s incident has passed as a result of his injuries. The female victim reported no injuries but was transported for evaluation. He added that the victim’s death is considered an "unattended death" and the Prince William Police Department will now be the lead agency.

PW Health District to begin giving 3rd doses of Covid-19 vaccines on Wednesday, Aug. 18

Prince William Health District (PWHD) and other vaccine providers across Virginia are now offering third doses of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to those with moderately to severely weakened immune systems (immunocompromised). PWHD's mobile clinic unit will be at the Prince William Fairgrounds Wednesday evening, Aug. 18 (5-8 p.m.) and again during the same hours on Thursday, Aug. 19.

PWC Fairgoers can get COVID-19 vaccine while at the Fair Aug. 18 & 19

Health workers will be at Prince William Health District's big white Mobile Clinic Unit that will be on-site at the Prince William County Fair this Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 18-19 from 5 to 8 p.m. to give COVID-19 vaccine to fairgoers who walk up with no appointment needed. The MCU will operate weather permitting or until the the vaccine supply runs out. There is no charge for the vaccine.
