Fatal bicycle accident in Manassas city

Dr. Thomas Jefferson Grizzard Jr., 70, retired director of the Occoquan Watershed Monitoring Laboratory, and a volunteer member of the Manassas City Utilities Committee, died on Saturday, June 24, at an area hospital from injuries sustained during a June 21 bicycle accident, according to a Manassas City police report.

VDOT ALERT: Dale Blvd. westbound near I-95 ramp to be closed for 30 minutes midmorning June 28

Westbound Dale Blvd (Route 784) between the off-ramp to southbound I-95 and the on-ramp from southbound I-95 will be closed Wednesday, June 28, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., to install a traffic signal pole and mast arm.

Expect delays on Old Centreville Rd. for 12-4 a.m. bridge beam removal at Bull Run June 26-30

Intermittent full closures will occur along Old Centreville Road in Manassas on the bridge over Bull Run the nights of Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30 between midnight and 4 a.m. each night in order to remove bridge beams, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Each stoppage will last up to 15 minutes. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes.
